In my experience, and in some cases collecting energy sometimes can make some people get some unwanted negative emotions. Another meditation to balance out is to do inner smile meditation to detoxify our negative emotions whether we get them from our exercises or from daily life and the past.
Mantak chia is the one that make this meditation famous.
The Inner Smile is a simple, effortless Daoist (Taoist) meditation on how to live with an open heart. You can practice it sitting quietly, or while engaged in everyday activities. The Inner Smile challenges us, in a series of “smiling baby steps”, to unconditionally accept every aspect of our body, mind, and spirit.
The Inner Smile connects our biological self, our psychological self, and our spiritual self in a practical way. It ingeniously captures the power hidden in our natural impulse to smile. It doesn’t try to fix anything or ask any part of us or others to change. It relies on the power of non-verbal communication coupled with a clear mind intent to “creatively find” the harmony hidden within everything.
Inner Smile Practice
Here is the “basic” exercise:
Relax your forehead, and be aware of smiling energy gathering before your eyes as golden light. Spiral this radiant energy at the point between your eyebrows. Let the Chi flow into your nose and cheeks. Feel the smiling energy flow into the jaws, releasing any tension there.
Smile down into your Neck and Throat and let the smiling energy flow into your thymus gland, located between the throat and sternum. Smile into your Heart and let your heart open like a lotus flower; allowing the loving and smiling energy to overflow to your Lungs, filling your chest with the power of smiling energy. Smile down to your Liver, on the bottom right side of the rib cage; Smile into your Stomach, Pancreas and Spleen at the left side of the rib cage,
Bring the smiling energy into your Kidneys, down to the genital area and then return your attention to your eyes. Become aware of the smiling energy in your eyes and the mid eyebrow, and allow this energy to flow down into your mouth; swallowing the saliva. Smile into the Small Intestine, the Large Intestine and bring the smiling energy into the Bladder.
Then bring your attention back to your eyes again and draw more energy into them and the mid eyebrow; Activate the saliva, and swallow as you push the tongue upwards, directing the energy flow into the brain. Smile into the pituitary gland, thalamus gland and hypothalamus. Smile into the pineal gland under the crown and smile into the midbrain and cerebellum and the first cervical vertebra at the base of the skull. Then bring the loving energy down through all of the vertebrae to the base of the spine. Relax….

The mind experiences life through the body, the body cannot live without the mind. It can be seen as a symbiont relationship, a duality (which everything exists as) or as one. But that is more a subjective matter, the fact is they can’t live without the other (atleast in this world)
